Sold October 2, 1945 for $3,000 by WAC to Hamiltair Ltd., Vancouver and Princess Louisa Inlet, B.C.
Hamiltair Ltd. acquired a total of 7 Fairmiles for $21,000 (Q122, 123, 125, 126, 127, 128 and 129). The owner , Tom Hamilton intended to used the Fairmiles fleet (after conversion and refurbishing) to handle guests at his resort “Malibu Club” in Princesss Louisa Inlet.
First registered: December 31, 1945 and renamed Malibu Tyee (#176472).
Eng. : 2 Sterling petrol engines changed to 2 Gray Marine 450 H.P., oil engines by 1947.
Owner (1951+) : Kirby-Mowat Co. Ltd. Vancouver, B.C. and renamed Nancy N. Seymour.
Owner (March 1954) : Southern Cross Ltd. Vancouver B.C.
Owner (1956) : Stamp River Timber Co., Port Alberni, B.C.
Owner (1958) : T.J. Boyles, Cobble Hill, B.C.
Owner (1959) : F.H.A. Olafson, Vancouver, B.C.
At one time the boat was used as a floating bunkhouse by a logging company up in Effingham Inlet, B.C.
Owner ( 1960-1967) : Captain Robert Reynolds, Master Mariner, and two of his sons Tom and Jim, Port Alberni, B.C. and renamed Sogno D’Oro ( Italian name for Dreams of Gold).
Captain Reynolds had nine children and used it as a private yacht. He made trips around Vancouver Island and the West Coast Islands of Vancouver Island.
May 1967, sold to William Owen Gray and Geoffrey William Brown, Vancouver, B.C.
Owner (1969) : Star enterprises Ltd., Vancouver, B.C.
Possibly, caught fire and sank somewhere in Howe Sound, B.C. with one life lost.
